Among us is an online multiplayer social deduction game developed and published by American game studio Innersloth. The game is set in space themed setting where players take one of the two roles crew-mate and impostor most being crew-mate and predetermined number of impostors. The goal of crew-mates is to find the impostors and eliminate them and complete the task around the map. The goal of impostor is to kill crew-mates without getting caught and stop them from completing tasks. To eject a suspected player everyone casts a vote and the player with most votes gets ejected to initiate the vote players can either report a body or press the emergency button. ll the impostors are removed, while impostors win if the number of crew-mates and impostors become equal or a critical sabotage remains unresolved for certain amount of time. This game can be played by 4 to 10 players.

The COVID 19 pandemic has a big role in the growth of this game. Initially it was released in 2018, but it received massive popularity during July 2020 as people were not able to socialize with others this game helped everyone to stay connected. There is are 4 maps, Skeld it is a spaceship, Mira HQ is headquarters building, Polus is a planet base and Airship.

The game is easy to understand, it can be played on pc, mobile phone, Nintendo switch and it features cross platform play between these platforms.

Even if it’s not best in graphics the gameplay makes it interesting. There was time when I to played this game on daily basis. It’s not complicated but at times it takes mental toll, one day I was getting killed first every round by impostors and it made me so furious, also there are aspects like lying to your friends being impostors making them believe someone else is impostor, seeing how people behave when they are lying or how their playing pattern changes when they are impostor and crew-mate. Most importantly it helped me to stay in contact with all my friends during the pandemic, which forbids physical interaction, thanks to this game we can play, talk have fun during these hard times.
